Naturopathic Medicine

Dr. Garrison with naturopathic patient

As a naturopath, I work collaboratively with you to understand your health goals, what you feel is getting in the way of your health, and what you need in order to succeed in your health journey. To allow the proper time to take a deep dive into your health, your first visit with me is 90 minutes. During this time, I will work with you to customize a treatment plan that fits your needs. This may include lab work, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, herbal medicine, supplements, body work, hydrotherapy, and/or mind body medicine.

At our follow up visits together, I will check in with you about your progress, offer support when needed, answer any questions or concerns, and revise the treatment plan if needed to better support you.

Conditions I commonly work with: Healthy aging, peri-menopause and menopause, hormone health, adrenal health, geriatric care, digestive issues, and stress related issues.

Biofeedback is a form of mind-body medicine that can help you change how your body responds to stress. Biofeedback uses equipment to monitor your heart rate variability, breathing rate, sweat levels, and temperature. During one of your first biofeedback appointments, we will use this data to get a better understanding of your body's physiological stress response. At subsequent visits, I will teach you tools and strategies that can help mitigate these responses, such as breath training, relaxation exercises, and guided meditation.

Dr. Garrison biofeedback

Using the monitoring data as feedback, you can begin to change your stress response, increase your resiliency to stress, and help balance your mood as you practice these tools.

Biofeedback can be helpful for: Anxiety, panic attacks, anger/irritability, sleep issues, muscle tension, high blood pressure, IBS, performance anxiety, tension headaches, and migraines.

Craniosacral Therapy

Dr. Garrison craniosacral therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of body work that focuses on subtle movements of the skull and sacrum. During a craniosacral visit, you can stay fully clothed, lying down on a comfortable massage table as you enjoy calming music and the relaxation of gentle manipulations at your head, neck, lower back, and hips. As I have additional training in visceral manipulation and counterstrain, I often will weave in these techniques when needed to augment further healing.

Craniosacral therapy can be helpful for: Headaches, anxiety, fibromyalgia, post concussion recovery, TMJ, neck/back/hip pain, and stress.
